The Chinatown Business Improvement District (BID) worked with DineOut to create a carfree multi-restaurant seating area on Manhattan’s Mott Street. Mott Street, in Chinatown, was the first communal installation by DineOut NYC. These installations have worked only because they were made with donated time, labor, and materials. DineOut NYC has worked with the City Department of Transportation and local Business Improvement Districts to identify the areas. The Rockwell Group, in partnership with NYC Hospitality Alliance and private funders, established Dine Out NYC this summer to design a modular outdoor dining setup. The @dineout_nyc program by the @rockwellgroup in partnership w/ @nyc_dot and Chinatown BID @explorechinatown brings in a large investment of resources from the hospitality industry to the neighborhood.
